NNM Diabetes Support Group Meetings

This group has been in progress for almost five years. It is an opportunity to get together and support each other. What we have found is that the biggest need is to just talk so we are currently not offering educational presentations. Please let us know if you are interested in such presentations and we will look into it. Currently, freestyle get-togethers are working best and that is what is planned. There is no set agenda for these meetings, the children get to play, the parents get to talk, and it is an altogether lovely time.

 

We do work together with JDRF and we chair the Santa Fe TOFUN events (Type One Families United Network). These events offer educational components and a fun activity. TOFUN events in Santa Fe are twice a year (spring and fall). JDRF also offers TOFUN events six times a year in Albuquerque. JDRF is an excellent resource for families.

 

 

Next Meeting

 
It is a great group of people that gets together each month and more people have been joining in, making it a wonderful exchange of information, story-sharing and discussion about the ups and downs of living with diabetes in the family. The kids have a blast playing together, and they LOVE being around other kids who also have to stop, check, snack or take insulin. Please join us.
